Starting today you can visit 5 stunning homes in the Piedmont and Oakland hills on this home tour sponsored by Children's support league. Robineve Cole of Hettinger Design asked us to make an all white bouquet to decorate one of her remodeled rooms and I had a chance to take this photo yesterday before it left the shop.

Whew...another weekend whirlwind. Two weddings and only one photo to show, and not even a very good one. Tricky to get a good photo of this bride's bouquet on the fly, but I'm sharing it because the flowers were so pretty. White clematis, peonies, lilac, and a double white tulip that I fell in love with over and over again all weekend long...
AND, our local newspaper ran a nice article about local flowers and the new book, The 50 Mile Bouquet, and look who made it onto the front page of the timeout section...

My copy of the book arrived last Friday, and I had a few moments to start reading yesterday...very nice.
Yesterday, Annie's Annuals in Richmond hosted their annual spring party. A lively celebration filled with food, music and thousands - maybe millions - of seedlings for sale in 4" pots.
We were greeted by this garden goddess
and this friendly fellow.
Towing our wagons, it took no time at all to fill them. Mine had lots of fun treasures for the cutting garden - hopefully to be seen soon in a bouquet near you. Darwin and Alex's had lots of vegies - looking pretty in patchwork.

I also had fun creating a garden with my camera...
Maybe it was the warm sunny day, but I was particularly drawn to the hot colors. It reminded me of the cottage garden at Sissinghurst. I think that was the first time I ever saw these colors concentrated in one garden room.
Then as we were driving home, we waiting at the train tracks as a color-of-the-day little engine crossed in front of us...
