Whew...another February 14th tucked in. It was a marathon day starting at 5am and ending at 6pm, non-stop, but I think we made lots of people happy and thanks to all those men out there who keep coming back year after year. Always so many lessons learned, what to buy, what not to buy for next year, but this year I think we were better organized thanks to Darwin and Farid and we had lots of delivery help (key). There were times during the day when I felt more like a short-order cook than a florist...it was nice being told what to do..."mixed dc with reds" (dc is our code for designer's choice) or "pastel spring mix" or a dozen red wrapped...you get the idea.
Here's what the shop looked like in front when I arrived in the morning, you can see it's just turning light outside...
There's never enough time to take photos on a day like this, but I just couldn't resist this clematis. It's from a new grower, more on that soon...
Oliver with another of those looks like why are you holding that black box in front of your face. He had a great day, with lots of his admirers coming in for a head scratch here and an ear massage there.
Now onto spring. Lots of wonderful events coming up soon. Lots more beauty to come...
