Yesterday morning I harvested the first of the zinnias from the cutting garden...a small gathering. 

 

by the afternoon...

 

they had joined some friends and were off to a summer party.

We have a great new collection of vintage medicine bottles for sale. They make wonderful bud vases.

Some seasonal beauties--hydrangea from Half Moon Bay, peonies from Fremont, clematis from Healdsburg, and some green snippets from my garden, all arranged in an old copper pitcher.

there are no words...

for a day like yesterday. 14 hours of arranging flowers non-stop. And I think I've created a new addiction--afternoon iced coffee. Of course no time for photos, but I did manage to grab my phone just before this one went out the door...

One of Darwin's beauties with pink lilac, white peonies, patience roses and lavender clematis in a campo de fiori pot. Hard to tell the scale, but it was about 3ft high.

I rarely show photos of behind the scenes (should do more), but couldn't resist this at the end of the day...
